Australia picture story - III

After Sydney, it's time to move onto Brisbane, an old painting of which is shown below. Some pictures featured here are not really specific to Brisbane, but offer a peek into generic Australia.

There are quite a few things that are unique about Australia and we identify those things with the country. One of them is the boomerang. You can find them as souvenirs everywhere, but below is an arrangement in a museum.

The boomerang is an invention of the Aborigines, the original inhabitants of Australia. Here's one of them with a unique instrument.

There are other Australians too on the street, entertaining people and hoping to make some money.

Australia is characterised by a long-standing friendship with the USA. Below is something to honour that.

Check out a portion of the Brisbane skyline, as some people are happy to come out in the sun and take a cruise on the Brisbane river.

School children, in uniforms, wait for their buses below.

In a public place like a park, there are various forms of entertainment. Here's a traditional one...

How about sexy salsa on a Friday evening?

Australia, like US, has a short history and cares to preserve its heritage.

Above is a railway station and below are a traditional house and the naval office.

With an interesting past, Australia looks ahead too. Here's a futuristic car designed by the University of Queensland.

I regret not being able to make it to the Gabba stadium (which one can enter only during games). Next time around, maybe...
