Bubbling movie revolution

Steven Soderbergh's Bubble will break new ground tonight, with simultaneous releases in theatres, TV and DVD. The stranglehold of studios over Hollywood movies has been a big issue for long and here's yet another effort to break that. Morgan Freeman featured in yet another effort recently. Quite some time ago, there was news of a tie-up between Kamal Haasan and Intel, though we don't know what happened of it.

Soderbergh speaks about his venture and more in this interview. It's strange to see technology go so much hand in hand with movies. He speaks about 'mash-up', which to me seems like open source.
