The transit strike in New York has deprived 7 million people of transportation. The estimated loss per day is a staggering 400 million! People are walking to work! Check out what's going on and the background.

In a city where such things have a crippling effect, there was also the black-out in 2003. People realised and enjoyed so many things without power and I'm sure they will this time around too. Technology and science have made us take so many things for granted.
