Yahoo! Mail Beta

Yahoo! Mail threw up a new interface for me today as a Beta. I like it okay, since it is very similar to the Netscape Mail / Thunderbird interface that I've been used to for about 8 years.

'Bulk' is now the more common 'Spam'. You also have RSS stuff. I also noticed the informal messages, that are similar to Google, and a snazzy Flash-based tutorial along the way.

This revamp effort has actually started quite some time ago.

What is interesting to me is the new Web-based e-mail war that GMail triggered off. Another spark is the credence to the theory that the Web-based desktop is the future, again fuelled by the rise of Google. Also, it seems like many pre-2K visions seem to be returning on the rebound.

What's the third biggie upto, then?
