"Oscar directors" meet...

In the film festival circuit, movies are always credited to directors. A movie is viewed as a creation of the director. Even though that's not always true in the commercial world, directors still occupy a prime position. Those nominated for Oscars (setting aside the debate about the worth of the awards) definitely have some calibre.

Chancing across a meeting of the five of this year was great -- wonderful camaraderie, sprinkled with pieces of interesting info. Spielberg is my all-time favourite and I've been impressed by Clooney of late. I've watched only Crash till now and am eager to lap up the rest. Thanks to Nav who suggested this article and Newsweek.

you hit the nail on the head..what was really heartening to read was the simplicity and mutual respect between these creative directors...there's obviously a healthy competition but they all seem to be equally inspired by each other's filmaking prowess.

You should definitely watch the other movies, especially munich.
