Oracle: the acquisition behemoth

After gobbling up $18b worth of companies last year, ranging from Innobase to Siebel, Oracle is still hungry for more. The latest potential targets are big names in the open source world: JBoss, Zend and Sleepycat. JBoss is the open source leader in J2EE-based application servers while Zend is the force behind PHP. Sleepycat deals with Berkeley database.

I don't yet see a method in Larry's madness. Do you?
